Shrapnel - 6in (150mm) Petty Culinary Knife Stainless Steel

“Shrapnel” 6 inch (150mm) petty blade knife. A thin cloud of red resin oozes into a cloud of blackness, interspersed with copperleaf flake. Toward the butt of the handle, the dark cloud ceases and gives way to a clear resin opening. Shards of copperleaf flake continue into and through the clear, as if explosively ejected from the red and black origin. Includes the sleek walnut saya shown.

The blade is made from molybdenum vanadium [stainless] steel, which is a mid-grade stainless steel hardened to HRC 57. Nothing fancy, but gets the job done, won’t rust, and easy to sharpen. You won't have to baby this knife. The edge angle is sharpened to 15 degrees and stropped for a razor sharp edge. Full flat grind (tapers from spine to cutting edge). The blade is 6” (150 mm) long, 1.122” (29.5 mm) tall, & 0.073” (1.85 mm) thick at the spine with a distal taper (gets thinner as it goes to the tip). The total length of the knife is 10.7” (272 mm).
